Sypnosis of the book

i recently read this book. "The Pink Magnolia Club" by Geralyn Dawson. the whole thing was a bit draggy to me, and some parts were predicted, while the rest were not. i wanna blog about some of my favourite parts of the book.

Short summary
Holly Weeks, rejected a proposal from her 6mths bf. She loved him so much. But because her mom had mutated genes (which resulted in breast cancer) Holly did not want to marry Justin (her bf) coz he was afraid that Justin might be miserable after she died. Like how her father was miserable. She did not want Justin to marry her, only to lose her to breast cancer. So this next para was how she felt.
"For most of my life, I've felt like I've been floating down a river on a
boat. I have no oars, no paddles, and I've been drawn to treacherous
rapids. The current is fast and it's rough and it's rolling. Up ahead, i hear
the roar of the waterfall. I've tried paddling away from destruction by
hand, but it makes no difference. I've tried bailing out to swim, but I
can't get out of the boat. Every day, every hour, every minute draws me
closer to that god-awful roar."

I like how she used that metaphor. Like so cool liddat. I can totally relate to her. About being afraid to get married. For me r/s lahs. but i dont have breast cancer. dont worry. While her god-awful roar is breast cancer, my god-awful roar is breaking up. sounds lame lah i know.

Kay. den, there's this one very nice quote. i like it soo much. hahas.
"Its not the memories that crush your soul, it's the regrets."

What it means is like dont be afraid to get married or get attached. coz the memories that u share with the person (if u go ahead with getting married/attached) is much more worth treasuring and these memories wont crush your soul. but if u dun go ahead with getting married/attached, the regret that u feel, it may crush ur soul. hahas. this is my definition lahs.
"Her personal life stream had lots of little rocks, a few logs, and a
couple of humongous boulders along the way. As water rushed over and along the
obstacle, it created that wonderful, exciting music of life well lived. Between
the white water, life drifted in placid pools of peace, its song soothing and
restful and welcome until rocks appeared to stir up the froth once again. Rocks
would reappear. Of that she had no doubt. "

This was about another older lady, Grace Hardeman. She was at the Stage V of breast cancer. so yeah. her husband did cheat on her once, but both of them overcome that 'log' and now they both love each other so much. Grace was thinking about her personal life stream while she was celebrating her 50th anni with Ben. And renewing their vows, made possible by Holly Weeks, and Maggie Prescott. another character in the story.

haiya. thats all i have for the books. some very nice phrases. i loike.

later going out for lunch and play pool with the babes and hunks. hrms. i forsee a fun filled day full of crapping. hahas. will update again once i have stories to tell.

a question for the public. the image seen on my blog, if i change it to a collage of myself and my friends, am i self-obsessive? hahas. please comment yeah. mwachs
